Community & Volunteer Support

Community & Volunteer Support

Stronger Together – United We Stand is built on a simple idea: people helping people. You do not need to be an expert to make a meaningful difference.

I Want to Help

Ways You May Be Able to Help

  • Companionship and peer support
  • Caregiver support or respite
  • Transport assistance
  • Food and essential support
  • Mobility equipment or practical donations
  • Professional or skills-based volunteering
  • Animal-welfare assistance
  • Helping at community events and meet-ups
  • Supporting awareness or fundraising campaigns

Community Events

Sometimes support begins simply by sitting with someone who understands.

As the community grows, we aim to organise or support caregiver picnics, coffee mornings, dementia-family gatherings, support walks, grief meet-ups, chronic-illness meet-ups, family days and other informal events that help people realise they are not alone.

Volunteer Safety & Boundaries

Because some members of the community may be vulnerable, volunteer activity must be handled responsibly. Roles involving home visits, transport, children, money, health information or vulnerable adults may require additional verification, consent, safeguarding and clear role boundaries.

Volunteers are not automatically treated as counsellors, therapists or medical professionals. Lived-experience support should be described honestly as peer or community support unless the person is appropriately qualified.

Professional Volunteers

Qualified professionals who wish to contribute time or expertise may offer workshops, educational material, guidance, community sessions or other appropriate support. Professional qualifications and scope of practice should be clearly identified.

Offer Practical Help

If you can offer transport, food support, equipment, household assistance, professional skills, event help or another useful service, email us with a brief description of what you can offer and the area in which you can assist.

People Helping People

Community support is freely given. Commercial advertising is separate and never buys influence over who receives help.
